Fourteen days out is a good place to be. Enough time for a real improvement, not enough time for anything with downtime.
Here is the plan, in order.
Day 14 to 12: the last real treatment
Book your facial with extractions now. This is the appointment that matters most and it needs to be at least ten days out.
Extractions can cause a small purge two to three days later. Twelve days gives you room for that to happen and fully clear.
If your concern is congestion and texture, DiamondGlow is the pick. If your skin is reactive or dehydrated, a calming signature facial is better.
This is also the last day for a chemical peel if one is in your plan.
Day 14: stop the experiments
No new products from here forward. Not a sample, not a friend's serum, not the thing you saw online.
Every pre-event skin disaster starts with something new introduced in the final two weeks.
If you have been meaning to start a retinoid, this is not the time. Start it after.
Day 11 to 8: quiet consistency
Cleanse, hydrate, sunscreen. That is it.
Keep your existing routine exactly as it is. Do not increase frequency on anything because you are anxious.
Sleep matters more in this window than any product. So does water.
If you have been meaning to book Botox, it is too late. Two weeks is the minimum and inside seven days is a hard no because of bruising. Skip it and book for after.
Day 7 to 5: optional light treatment
A hydrating facial without extractions is fine here. So is dermaplaning, which makes makeup sit noticeably better.
Nothing that resurfaces aggressively. Nothing new.
If you are doing a spray tan trial, this is a reasonable window for it.
Day 4 to 3: hair, lashes, tan sequence
Lash extensions, if you are doing them. Two to three days out, not the day before.
Spray tan after lashes, typically two days before the event.
Any hair appointment. Color at least a week out is safer, since color reactions need time.
Day 2: nothing
Hydrating mask at home if you want something to do.
No treatments. No extractions. No experiments. No picking.
Day 1: sleep and water
Limit sodium if you are prone to puffiness. Limit alcohol for the same reason.
Get to bed early. It is the least glamorous advice on this page and it does the most.
Day of
Cool compress or a chilled roller in the morning for puffiness.
Moisturize, sunscreen, makeup.
If something has gone wrong overnight, do not attempt to fix it. Ice it, cover it, move on. Panic exfoliation the morning of an event has never once improved a situation.
What not to do in these fourteen days
Microneedling. Morpheus8. Laser. Aggressive peels. First-time Botox or filler. New actives. A new esthetician you have not seen before.
All excellent things, all of them belong outside this window.
If you have more than two weeks
Better. A longer runway looks like this: microneedling series starting twelve weeks out, Botox at six to eight weeks, final extraction facial at two weeks, then the plan above.
Get on the calendar
Book your pre-event facial at least twelve days before the date.
