A perm for your brows, in the most literal sense
Brow lamination reshapes and sets your eyebrow hairs in the direction you want them to sit. A chemical relaxant softens and restructures each hair, then a setting cream holds the new shape. Hairs that used to grow flat, cross over each other or point in three different directions all end up going the same way.
The result is fuller and more defined without a single hair being added. Brows look thicker because more of the hair is standing up and visible, thin spots read as smaller because neighbouring hairs can be brushed across them, and the shape stays where it was put instead of needing gel every morning.
It suits most people who already have brow hair to work with. If your brows are very sparse there is less for lamination to redirect, and a tint or a different approach may serve you better. Say so when you call and we will be straight with you about it.

How the appointment goes

Shape and prep
We look at how your brows grow and where you want them to sit, then clean the area so the solutions work evenly across the whole brow.

The relaxant
A softening solution goes on and sits for a few minutes. This is the step that makes the hair moveable. Each hair is then brushed into the direction it is going to keep.

The setting cream
A second solution locks the new shape in place. A nourishing oil goes on afterwards, because the process is chemically close to a perm and the hair needs the moisture put back.

Tint, if you are having one
Dye is brushed through the brows and left briefly, then wiped off. It colours the hair rather than the skin, so it fades as the hair grows out.
Your questions, answered
Around six to eight weeks for most people, which is roughly how long it takes for the treated hairs to grow out and be replaced by new ones. Coarser or faster growing brows sit at the shorter end of that.
It is a chemical process, so it is not nothing. At the right strength and left on for the right time it is well tolerated, and the conditioning step at the end matters more than people expect. What causes brittle hairs is laminating again the moment the last one drops, so spacing treatments out is what protects them.
The first 24 hours are the ones that count. Keep them dry and do not rub them while the shape sets. After that, washing, showering and swimming are all fine.
Once the first day has passed, yes. Most people find they reach for brow pencil and gel far less afterwards, because the shape is already there.
Tint is a dye, and dye allergies are real. If you have ever reacted to hair dye, or to a brow or lash tint before, tell us when you call and ask about a patch test ahead of your appointment.
Tell us if you are pregnant or nursing, if the skin around your brows is broken, irritated or sunburned, if you have recently had a peel, laser or waxing on the area, or if you use retinoids near your brows. Several of those change the timing rather than rule you out. It is a short conversation when you call.
Microblading is a tattoo. Pigment goes into the skin, it lasts a year or more, and there is a healing period afterwards. Lamination only touches the hair you already have, it lasts weeks rather than years, and there is nothing to heal. If your brows have real gaps with no hair in them at all, microblading solves a problem lamination cannot.
