Hormone Optimization

Treat the labs and the person

Fatigue, poor sleep, low libido, stubborn weight and low mood can all have a hormonal component. They can also have half a dozen other causes, which is why we start with a proper assessment rather than a prescription.

If hormone therapy is appropriate, your provider will explain which hormone, which route, and why, along with the risks. Ongoing lab work is part of the treatment, not an optional extra.

How It Works

What to expect

  1. Assessment

We take a full history, talk through your symptoms and goals, and decide together which labs are worth drawing.

  2. Labs and review

Your results are reviewed with you. If hormone therapy is appropriate, your provider explains the options, the route and the risks.

  3. Treat and monitor

You start your plan, and we recheck labs and symptoms on a schedule so the dose stays right for you.

Hormone Optimization FAQ

Common questions

Yes. We do not prescribe hormones on symptoms alone. Baseline labs tell us whether a hormone is genuinely low, whether something else explains how you feel, and give us a number to measure against later. Follow-up labs are part of treatment, not optional.

They are real and they depend on the hormone, the dose, the route and your own history. Depending on what is prescribed, they can include blood clots, stroke, heart attack, changes in cancer risk, thickening of the blood, and reduced fertility, which with testosterone may be long lasting or permanent. Your provider will go through the ones that apply to you, and you will read and sign a consent form covering them before starting.

Not necessarily. Bioidentical and natural are marketing terms, not safety findings. Many compounded preparations, including pellets, are not FDA approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality the way commercially manufactured products are. We will tell you which product is being recommended and whether an FDA-approved alternative exists.

It depends on your labs and your plan, so we price after an assessment. Call the number on this page and we will talk it through.
