A small shot with a big lift

Vitamin B12 is what your body uses to turn food into usable energy, build healthy red blood cells and keep your nervous system running smoothly. You can only get it from food or a supplement, and plenty of people run low without ever realising it.

An injection skips your digestive system entirely and delivers the B12 straight into the muscle, so your body can use it right away. The visit takes about five minutes, there is no downtime, and most people head straight back to their day.

Why People Come In

What a B12 shot supports

B12 is a nutrient your body genuinely needs, so a shot is about topping up what may be running low rather than treating a condition. These are general wellness benefits, and how much you notice depends a lot on where your levels started.

Everyday energy

B12 is central to how your cells turn food into fuel. People who are running low often describe the lift afterwards as feeling less drained by the middle of the afternoon.

Metabolism support

Your body leans on B12 to metabolise fats and proteins, which is why it is such a common companion to a medical weight loss plan.

Healthy red blood cells

B12 helps your body build the red blood cells that carry oxygen everywhere it needs to go. Too little is one of the recognised causes of anemia.

Focus and mood

The same vitamin supports your nervous system and normal brain function, and many clients say the mental clarity is what they notice first.

Filling a real gap

Vegetarians, vegans, adults over fifty and anyone taking long term acid reducers or metformin absorb less B12 from food, so a shot bypasses the problem entirely.

No downtime at all

It is one quick injection with a very fine needle. No prep, no recovery, no reason to clear your afternoon.

Good To Know

Why an injection instead of a pill

Oral B12 has to survive your stomach and be absorbed through your gut, and for a lot of people that is exactly where it falls down.

What To Expect

How a B12 visit works

  1. Book your time

Reserve online or call ahead. It is a short appointment, so we can usually fit you in the same day.

  2. Quick check in

You will confirm a short health history and consent the first time you come in. After that, check in takes a moment.

  3. The injection

A Registered Nurse gives the shot in your upper arm with a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a brief pinch.

  4. Back to your day

There is no downtime and nothing to recover from. You can drive, work out and carry on exactly as planned.

B12 FAQ

B12 shot questions, answered

It is a small intramuscular injection of vitamin B12, given in your upper arm by a Registered Nurse. B12 is a nutrient your body cannot make on its own, and it plays a part in energy production, red blood cell formation and normal nervous system function. The injection delivers it straight into the muscle so your body can put it to work without relying on digestion. At Moon Valley Med Spa in North Phoenix the whole visit takes about five minutes.

A single B12 shot is priced right here on this page, pulled live from our booking system, so what you see is what you pay. There is no consultation fee and no package to commit to. If you come in regularly, both our Glow and Elite memberships include one complimentary B12 injection every month, which is worth doing the math on if a monthly shot is already part of your routine.

That depends almost entirely on where your levels started. If you are genuinely running low on B12, people often describe feeling less drained and more clear headed within a day or two. If your levels are already healthy the effect is usually much subtler, because your body simply clears what it does not need. It is a general wellness service rather than a treatment, so we would rather set an honest expectation than promise you a transformation.

Not much, and not for long. We use a very fine needle into the muscle of your upper arm, and most people describe a quick pinch and a little pressure. Some notice mild soreness at the injection site for a day, similar to how your arm can feel after any vaccination. Tell your nurse if you are nervous about needles and they will talk you through it.

Many people come in every two to four weeks, and monthly is the most common rhythm we see. The right cadence really depends on your levels, your diet and what you are hoping to support, so it is worth mentioning your goals when you come in. If you want to know where you actually stand before committing to a schedule, we can look at B12 as part of our lab and blood work services.

B12 comes from animal foods, so vegetarians and vegans are the most common group. Absorption also drops with age, which puts adults over fifty at higher risk, and certain long term medications get in the way too, including acid reducers such as omeprazole and the diabetes medication metformin. Anyone who has had gastric or intestinal surgery, or lives with a condition such as celiac disease, may absorb less as well. If any of that sounds like you, a shot is a straightforward way around the problem.

B12 is water soluble, which means your body holds on to what it needs and clears the rest, so it is very well tolerated. Side effects are uncommon and usually mild, most often a little soreness or redness where the needle went in. Allergic reactions are rare. Let us know before your shot if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disease, or have ever reacted to cobalt or a B12 injection before, and check with your healthcare provider if you are managing an ongoing condition.

Yes, and a lot of people do. It adds only a few minutes, so it slots easily onto the end of an IV therapy session, a medical weight loss visit or almost anything else on the menu. Just mention it when you book or when you check in and we will add it to your visit.

Booking ahead is the surest way to be seen quickly, and you can do it online in under a minute. That said, it is a five minute service, so we can often fit you in at short notice if the schedule allows. If you are coming from across North Phoenix and want to be certain, give us a call first and we will hold a time for you.
