Fire & Ice earned its nickname honestly. The first mask is the fire: a resurfacing layer that warms and tingles as it works on dull surface skin, congestion and the beginnings of fine lines. Then comes the ice, a cooling, hydrating mask that calms everything down and puts moisture straight back in.
The contrast is the point. You get the resurfacing effect of a clinical treatment inside an hour, and you walk out looking like you have simply had a very good facial rather than like you have had something done. There is no flaking to wait out and no redness to plan around.

We double cleanse and look at your skin, and check whether you have used retinoids or had recent sun, both of which change how we approach the treatment.

The fire
The resurfacing mask goes on and warms up. Expect a strong tingle and a building heat for several minutes. It is intense and it is meant to be. Your esthetician stays with you and uses a fan to keep it comfortable.

The ice
The cooling mask follows and the contrast is immediate. Skin calms, rehydrates and tightens, and we finish with protective products and sunscreen.
Your questions, answered
It genuinely tingles and warms, and for a few minutes it is intense. That sensation is the resurfacing layer doing its work, it peaks and then eases, and your esthetician is with you the whole time with a fan. Nearly everyone finds it very manageable, and plenty of people come to enjoy it. But we would rather you arrive expecting it than be startled by it.
No, and that is the whole appeal. You get a resurfacing result without the flaking a chemical peel asks for. Some people notice very slight dryness for a day, which moisturizer handles.
You may have a mild flush for a short while after, similar to coming in from a brisk walk, and it settles quickly. Most people go straight back to work or out afterwards, which is exactly why it gets booked before events.
Anywhere from the day before to a week before works well. Many people book it two or three days ahead so skin has had a night to settle into its best. If it is your first time and the event really matters, book a couple of weeks out so you know how your skin responds.
Yes. We would rather you gave your skin a few hours if you can, and always sunscreen first, but there is nothing stopping you putting makeup on and going out.
A signature facial cleanses, extracts, hydrates and relaxes you. This one resurfaces. It is working on texture, dullness and fine lines rather than just cleaning and hydrating, and you will see a sharper difference the same day. It is also less relaxing, which is a fair trade for the result.
A peel keeps working for days and usually asks for visible flaking in return, especially the stronger ones. This gives you a good deal of that resurfacing effect in a single hour with none of the waiting. If you want deeper change to pigment or texture over time, a peel or a series of them will take you further. Ask us and we will be straight about which suits your goal.
Every four weeks or so suits most people, and many book it as a regular reset. There is no course to commit to. It works perfectly well as a one-off before something that matters.
Tell us if you are pregnant or nursing, take or recently took Accutane, get cold sores, have very reactive or rosacea-prone skin, have had recent sun or a spray tan, or use retinoids. Several of those simply change the timing rather than rule you out. It is a short conversation when you book.
