Some people leave a traditional facial glowing. Some people leave looking like they lost a fight.

If you are in the second group, that is not a technique problem and it is not your fault. It is a reactivity problem, and there is a different way to clear congestion.

Why manual extraction is hard on some skin

Traditional extraction uses steam to soften, then physical pressure to express the contents of the pore.

For most people that is fine. For people with reactive skin, rosacea tendencies, or a strong flushing response, the combination of heat plus pressure produces redness that lasts hours and sometimes visible capillary irritation.

Some people also bruise easily around the nose and chin, which is where most of the work happens.

What DiamondGlow does instead

Three things simultaneously through one handpiece.

Diamond tip resurfacing. A physical abrasive tip removes the dead cell layer sitting over the congestion. Different grits for different areas, which means we can be more aggressive on a congested nose and gentler along the jaw in the same treatment.

Vacuum extraction. Suction pulls debris out of the pore rather than pressing it out. No pinching, no fingers, no bruising.

Serum infusion. A SkinMedica serum is delivered into the freshly resurfaced skin at the same time, chosen for your concern.

No steam. No heat. No manual pressure.

Who this suits better than a traditional facial

Anyone who flushes hard or stays red for hours after extractions.

Rosacea-prone skin, where heat is a known trigger.

People who bruise easily.

Anyone with an event inside a week who wants congestion cleared without a recovery period.

Skin with congestion plus texture, since the resurfacing addresses both.

Who is better off with a traditional facial

Very deep, stubborn congestion sometimes needs manual work. Suction has limits.

Skin that needs a lot of calming and massage rather than resurfacing.

Anyone on a budget, since our signature facials start at $59 and DiamondGlow starts at $190.

We will tell you which one your skin needs. Sometimes the cheaper one is the right call.

What to expect

Thirty to forty five minutes. It feels like firm suction plus light sanding. Most people find it satisfying rather than uncomfortable.

Afterward you are slightly pink for maybe an hour, then normal. Makeup the same day is fine.

Occasionally there is a small purge two to three days later if there was a lot of congestion. That means it worked. It clears within a few days.

Cadence

Every four weeks is where congestion-prone skin actually changes.

One session clears what is currently there. It does not change how much your skin produces, so without a schedule it refills on the same timeline.

Every six weeks is a reasonable compromise. Once a year in a panic is not a plan.

The March context

Early spring in Phoenix is a transition period. Humidity is still low, pollen counts are climbing, and people are starting to be outside again and reaching for sunscreen daily.

That combination congests skin. It is a good month to reset before summer, when oil production climbs with the temperature.
