This is the question people are too embarrassed to ask in the room, so they ask their friend instead, and then they end up comparing a number that has nothing to do with their own face.

Let's just put the ranges out there.

Typical unit ranges by area

These are common starting ranges for a first treatment. Your provider may go above or below depending on your muscle strength.

Glabella (the "11s" between your brows): 15 to 25 units. This is the strongest muscle group most people treat, and undertreating it is the number one reason someone says Botox did not work for them.

Forehead lines: 8 to 20 units. This one has to be balanced against the glabella. Treating the forehead heavily without addressing the muscles that pull your brow down is how people end up with a heavy brow.

Crow's feet: 8 to 12 units per side. Some people only want the upper fan treated so they keep more natural movement when they smile.

Bunny lines (the crinkle on the nose bridge): 4 to 8 units total.

Lip flip: 4 to 6 units. Small number, noticeable effect, wears off faster than other areas.

Chin dimpling: 4 to 8 units.

Masseter (jaw slimming or clenching): 20 to 30 units per side. This is a big muscle and it takes real product.

A full upper face is commonly somewhere between 40 and 64 units. That is a wide range on purpose.

Why your number is not your friend's number

Muscle strength varies enormously between people, and it does not track with age the way you would expect. We have treated 32-year-olds who needed 28 units in the glabella and 55-year-olds who were comfortable at 15.

Men usually need more. Male facial muscles are denser, and the standard male glabella dose runs meaningfully higher than the female average.

How you metabolize it matters too. If you have a high metabolism or you train hard several days a week, you may burn through it faster and need slightly more at each visit or a shorter interval between them.

And there is the goal question. Someone who wants zero movement needs a different dose from someone who wants softened lines with expression intact. Neither is wrong. Tell your injector which one you are.

How pricing works here

We price by the unit, starting at $10 per unit. That means you pay for exactly what goes in, and you can see the math.

Be careful comparing per-unit prices between clinics. A very low per-unit price sometimes means overdilution, which means you need more units for the same result and the total lands in the same place or higher. Ask what dilution they use and how many units they are recommending. The total is the number that matters.

What we do at a first appointment

We watch you move. You will get asked to raise your brows, squint, frown, and smile while the injector reads which muscles are actually doing the work.

Then we plan conservatively. It is easy to add units at a two-week follow-up. It is impossible to take them out.

Expect the first hints of softening around day three or four, and the full result at day 10 to 14. If something looks uneven at day 10, come back. That is a normal part of the process, not a complaint.

A consult takes about 15 minutes and you will leave with a specific unit count and a specific price, not a range.
