Most women are never told that the tissue there ages the same way facial skin does. Collagen thins. Elasticity drops. Blood flow decreases. Childbirth and menopause speed all of it up.

The difference is that nobody sells you a serum for it, so most people assume the changes are just permanent and never mention them to anyone.

FormaV is one of the tools that addresses this. It is worth separating from the marketing around it, because the thing it actually does is narrower, and better understood, than the branding suggests.

What FormaV actually is

FormaV is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment, part of InMode's Empower RF platform, which is FDA cleared. It uses a small wand to deliver gentle, temperature-controlled heat to the vaginal canal and the external vulva and labia.

That is the whole mechanism. It is not surgery, not a laser, and not an injection. It is controlled heat, delivered evenly, to stimulate the tissue's own repair response.

You will see it marketed as "vaginal rejuvenation." That phrase gets attached to everything from surgery to jade eggs, and it has earned most of the skepticism it gets. Ignore the phrase and look at what the energy does.

What the radiofrequency does

Radiofrequency heats tissue to a target temperature and holds it there. That does three things that are well understood.

It stimulates collagen production and remodeling, the same reason RF is used on faces and necks.

It increases local blood circulation, which matters more here than most people realize, because reduced blood flow is behind a lot of dryness and discomfort.

It gently contracts existing tissue, which is where the tone and laxity improvements come from.

None of that is exotic. It is the same principle as every other RF skin treatment, applied to tissue that happens to respond well to it.

What it is used for

FormaV is used for vaginal laxity, dryness, discomfort during intimacy, reduced sensation, and the appearance of the external labia.

It is also used for mild stress incontinence, the kind that shows up with a sneeze, a laugh, or a jump on a trampoline. That said, moderate or severe incontinence needs a real workup, and often needs more than heat. If leaking is disrupting your life, see a provider who will evaluate the cause, not just book you a series.

The same honesty applies to dryness. A lot of it is genitourinary syndrome of menopause, which has medical treatments too, including local estrogen. A good provider talks you through all of the options, not only the one they happen to offer.

What a session is like

The provider measures the length of the canal first, so the wand is never inserted further than needed. A topical numbing cream can be applied, and gel is used for comfort.

The wand goes in and is rotated slowly so the energy is distributed evenly along the walls. The external areas are treated the same way. Most people describe it as warm and completely tolerable, not painful.

A session runs about 30 minutes. There is no downtime. You can drive yourself home and go back to your day. Some tenderness or mild redness for up to 24 hours is normal, and it is worth avoiding strenuous exercise for two to four days.

The protocol

FormaV is a series, not a single visit.

The standard is three treatments spaced about six weeks apart, then a maintenance session roughly once a year to hold the result.

Results build gradually as collagen remodels over those weeks. Anyone promising an overnight change is overselling it.

We offer FormaV as a single session, a series of three, or a series of six. Current pricing is listed on the FormaV page.

What it will not do

It will not perform a labiaplasty or a vaginoplasty. Those are surgery, and if you want a structural change of that kind, RF is not it.

It will not fix significant pelvic organ prolapse. That is a medical issue that needs a physician and often physical therapy.

It will not diagnose the thing causing your symptoms. Pain, bleeding, or a sudden change deserves an actual exam first. FormaV is for known, benign, age and hormone related changes, not for working out what is wrong.

It is not permanent. The tissue keeps aging, which is why maintenance exists.

Who should wait, and who should see a doctor first

Skip FormaV, or clear it with a provider first, if you are pregnant, currently have an active infection like a UTI, yeast infection, or STI, are having a herpes outbreak, or are on your period.

Tell your provider about an IUD, any implant, or a pacemaker before booking.

And if your reason for looking into this is undiagnosed pain, unexplained bleeding, or incontinence that is genuinely affecting your life, start with a medical evaluation rather than a spa treatment. FormaV can be part of the answer, but it should not be the first step when something might be medically wrong.
